PHYSIO NORTH

Originally from England, Mark Isaacs has been with Physio North since moving to Canada in 2008. He graduated from the UK with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Science followed by a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy. He has post-graduate qualifications in manual therapy and also acupuncture through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute. After working in the UK, Mark moved to British Columbia to pursue his love of the outdoors and especially to be closer to the Rockies. His clinical interests are in the treatment of movement impairment syndromes of the shoulder, lower extremity and lower back. When not at work, Mark participates in many sports and activities to promote a healthy and active lifestyle. He enjoys cross-country skiing and regularly participates in the annual Prince George Iceman and the Caledonia Loppet. In summer, Mark enjoys mountain biking and takes part in enduro races. He is also an active member of the Alpine Club of Canada where he enjoys winter and summer mountaineering in the Rockies and ice climbing.

Originally from Terrace, B.C, Matthias lived in Prince George while completing his Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Studies. Prior to starting his career as a physiotherapist, Matthias worked for BC Ambulance as a Primary Care Paramedic and for the BC Forest Service as a forest firefighter. Matthias moved out to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan for 3 years, where he worked as a medical trainer for the provincial wrestling team and completed his Masters in Physiotherapy. The unique outdoor opportunities and familiarity of Prince George brought him back to Northern B.C. Matthias has completed post-degree courses including Complete Concussion Management, Orthopedic Level 1 and a variety of shoulder, hip and knee specific courses. Matthias has training in IMS (Intramuscular Stimulation) or dry kneeling. Since 2020 Matthias also is employed as a Clinical Skills Assistant for the Northern Physiotherapy Program. When not working, Matthias participates regularly in mountain biking, cross country skiing/backcountry skiing, running and hiking.

Originally from Galway, Ireland, Brenda completed her Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy at the University of East London. Brenda has worked for a variety of Physiotherapy clinics both within the National Health Service (UK) and in private practice. Brenda is a registered member of the British Columbia School of Physical Therapists and is accredited by the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute. Brenda joined the team at Physionorth in 2009. She has completed multiple post-graduate courses including acupuncture, manual therapy and rehabilitation pilates. Her clinical interests are in the treatment of shoulder, back and neck dysfunctions with an emphasis on improvement of function and core stability. She also assists in community physiotherapy through prenatal physiotherapy classes and she offers home visits to individuals who are unable to attend the clinic. When not at work Brenda likes to lead a quiet and healthy lifestyle with her husband. She is passionate about travelling and learning about other cultures and languages. In her spare time, Brenda enjoys hiking, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. During those cold winter months, Brenda likes to practice Pilates to maintain strength, flexibility and overall wellness. Brenda’s favourite motto in life is “your health is your wealth,” and she uses her work in physiotherapy to promote this motto in her day-to-day practice.
